FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I prepare for my sauna session?

Please make sure that all your jewellery is removed as it gets really hot in the sauna.

Do not eat a big meal before your sauna and it is not recommended to drink alcohol before, during or directly after your sauna session.

Please bring your swimwear or ideally already wearing it, and two clean towels – one to sit on in the sauna and one to dry yourself after your session.

Bring a lot of drinking water because you will need it!

We only have a few towels for rent so, if you forget to bring your own or we do not have any left to rent you will not be allowed to use the sauna without one.

Bring beach footwear if needs be and something warm + cosy to hang out in after.

Please read our Sauna Etiquette section.

Allow time for changing if you are not already wearing your swimwear. Your time inside the sauna begins and ends at the time you booked only.

We do not offer a designated area for your belongings so please only bring the basics. Any belongings left are done so at your own risk.

We recommend booking in advance online, but you are very welcome to pop by and see if we have any availability, or send us a text message and we can let you know if there are any spaces free. If you are dropping in you can pay via card or we can take cash but you will be required to read and sign our disclaimer.

Six in a communal session and up to eight depending on how close bathers like to be inside the sauna during a private booking.

We have a small two cubicle tent unless the particular site we are on already has facilities so ideally you should be wearing your swimwear already to avoid queuing

This depends on your booking. The community sauna sessions are open to all so, unless you book a private session you will be sharing the sauna with others. No worries though, the sauna is a nice place to make new friends.

However if you would prefer some privacy please book a private hour session.

SWEAT-COOL-REPEAT

Have a shower before the sauna session

Sit on a towel on the upper or lower bench depending on your temperature preference

Warm up (usually 5-20 mins inside the sauna before a break)

Cool down and have a splash (rinse first if using the cold plunge)

Rest and allow your body to balance out then repeat the process

Feel what your body is telling you and listen to it to guide your needs

We try to make the sauna as inclusive as possible. However, due to the nature of the sauna here are some reasons why you might not be able to use our sauna.

All persons using the sauna do so at their own risk. If you have any reservations regarding using a sauna, such as medical conditions, underlying health problems, the use of prescription / recreational drugs or pregnancy, it is essential that you consult your GP before making a booking.

Children between the ages 7 to 16 are permitted to use the saunas during private sessions only (full sauna to be booked) as long as an adult family member/guardian is present at ALL TIMES during the hire/use of the sauna

Anyone under the age of 7 is NOT permitted to use the sauna

The sauna has four access steps with a handrail, please bear this in mind if you or any of your group have difficulty ascending and descending stairs.

Depending on location and water supply we might have cold/ice plunge and we can usually offer cold shower or rinse.
(Please note that the cold/ice plunge is not a guided experience and is used at your own risk).

If you are unsure, please use the plunge for short periods and build up to longer periods slowly.
